It’s been a while since my last “Abby Talk” entry. Here’s a few to keep the list updated. Enjoy!

At the Dallas Arboretum with Mimi…
Abby: Mimi, you’re my grandma?
Mimi: Yes.
Abby: Hi Grandma!
Mimi: Don’t call me grandma!
Abby: But you’re not grandpa!
Abby does have a point. Hee hee!

This is one of four photos that goes with the above conversation. It’s part of my “Madonna and Grandchild” series.
I posted all the photos here.

Mimi sleeps in Abby’s room with Abby. I lie on the bed with them, with Abby in-between Mimi and Me, until Abby falls asleep. One night, while the three of us were lying down in the dark, Mimi asked Abby for a massage….
Mimi: Abby, massage my head.
Abby: (Closes her eyes and pretends to sleep) I’m sleepy.
Me: Mimi will give you a dollar tomorrow if you massage her head.
Abby: I’m sleepy.
Me: Ok, good night.
Abby: (Opens her eyes and gives the request some thought.) Ok.
She then reached her hand out to Mimi’s forhead and began to massage it. Then she turned her head to me while continuing to massage Mimi’s head and asked a question which had Mimi and me in stitches…
Abby: That’s one dollar?
Sigurista! And we assured her that she’ll get her dollar the next day.
Me: What will you do with your dollar?
Abby: Hmm…put i t in the basket?
Me: What basket?
Abby: In church!
Naks! What a nice gesture! Hee hee! After a few seconds she stopped and closed her eyes again but still not sleeping.
Mimi: Abby, massage me some more.
Abby: Two dollars?
Aba, at nakipagnegotiate pa!

In an effort to teach Abby Tagalog, I taught her the song “Sampung mga Daliri” complete with action a few nights ago. She seemed to enjoy the song. One night, while I was dressing her up after her bath, I decide to test her by asking her to fill in the missing lyrics to the song…
Me: Sampung mga daliri…
Abby: (Da)liri
Me: Kamay at…
Abby: Talong! (She must have mixed it up with Bahay Kubo which we no longer sing…for special reasons.
)
Me: Paa!…Dalawang tenga, dalawang…
Abby: Ilong!
Me: Mata!
I tested her just now and still insisted on “talong”. Oh well, I’ll just keep at it.
Enjoy the rest of the week, y’all!

Weng, funny si Abby. At least the money is used to help other people… how charitable. Two dollars pa ha… may be one for the Church and one for her.
May be the next time Pinky and my kids ask me to give them a massage (baligtad no?) I should use Abby’s line… in case magwork. Hehehe!

Hahaha!! This entry got me laughing so hard…especially the negotiation part with Mimi! But she’s a kind-hearted kid, I can tell. Hindi lahat ng bata willing ibigay ang hard-earned dollar nila sa offertory basket.
Abby will grow up to be street-smart. Madiskarte!

Classic talaga humirit itong inaanak ko – hahaha!
I’m positive she’ll thrive in whatever she goes into when she grows up – kitang-kita ang ebidensya sa post mo e
Hugs and kisses to sweet, smart Abby! Mwah!
